Yesterday we got up early and went to the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's. Then in the afternoon, Dad and Darin went to Piazza di Spagna again to change money, and I stayed in the hotel. Last night we went down the street for dinner, and I haven't left the hotel since we got back last night because of the heat. Stupid Rome and it's stupid heat. I have been in this hotel for nearly 24 hours and I won't be leaving until we head up the coast tomorrow.
Vatican Museum.
Us waiting for Dad to return with tickets.
This sign means, "Don't fall down the steps, dumbass! Walk down them standing up!"
Dress code sign outside St. Peter's. We're really glad we went straight from the museums into St. Peter's and we didn't have to stand in line in the hot sun for a day and a half only to have our clothing criticized by Italians. It was sad we didn't see the Swiss Guard, or at least, they weren' in funny uniforms.
Sign go boom.
Dad listening to some classical music that he'd been looking for forever, and finally found at the record store that they had to pry me out of.
I guess this is my "trying to take a descent photo" face.

I believe the statue with the woman holding the man is La Pieta, and it depicts Mary, mother of Jesus, holding Jesus just after the crucifixion. An interesting tidbit about it: If both were to stand up, she would be like 11 feet tall and he would be like 5. The artist made her larger so it would look like she was holding a child.
